This free boating course usually lasts between 6 and 8 hours. Participants usually complete the course in one day. The course includes information on choosing a boat, classification, hulls, motors, legal and equipment requirements, navigation rules, navigation charts, trailering, sailboats, and related subjects that include canoeing, personal watercraft and more. Participants who complete the course will receive a Boater Education Certificate.

Free boating education course that will be available to the public on April 27, 2024 at Grant High School, in Dry Prong. The course will be held in the cafeteria of the high school from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. All course material will be provided, with exam to be administered at the end to earn certification for the course. Please bring any snacks or drinks that you would like, along with any note taking materials.
