GROUP BENEFITS
Health and Life Insurance
All new employees and their qualifying dependents are eligible for health and life insurance coverage under the Office of Group Benefits (OGB). The cost of health and life insurance is shared by employee and the state. Even upon retirement, if you continue your health coverage and all or part of your life coverage (depending upon age), the agency will continue to pay a portion of your premium. Their website is www.groupbenefits.org.
Private insurers will offer additional life and health insurance, as well as accident and dental insurance policies. You may enroll in the different plans and if they are authorized for payroll deductions, the Department will deduct the premiums from your check. However, you will be responsible for 100% of the premiums.
