Inland Fisheries DivisionHATCHERIES![]() FISH STOCKING The goals and objectives of the Inland Fisheries Division include providing the public with a quality fishing experience and managing for big bass. In part, the management for big bass is reliant upon the stocking or incorporating of the Florida largemouth bass gene into our native black bass environment. In 2004-2005 departmental Inland Fish Hatcheries provided fish stocking as an integral part of our fisheries management program for eighty-five (85) diversified water bodies that encompass over one million acres of water throughout the state of Louisiana. The following is a list by species, origin, and district as to the numbers of fish that were stocked:
