WILD-CAUGHT CRAWFISH TASK FORCE TO MEET

The Wild-Caught Crawfish Task Force will meet on Wednesday, Nov. 1, 2006 at 1 p.m. in the Louisiana Room of the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries (LDWF) headquarters building in Baton Rouge. 


The task force was established within LDWF by House Concurrent Resolution No. 85, authored by Representatives Jack Smith and Karen St. Germain.  The purpose of the task force is to advise LDWF on matters pertaining to the management, marketing and development of the wild-caught crawfish industry in Louisiana.   


Agenda items include historic crawfish landings in relation to river stages and discussions of issues concerning water availability in the Atchafalaya Basin. 


Representatives Karen St. Germain and Jack Smith will also attend to discuss and answer questions concerning wild caught crawfish issues.
