The Louisiana Wildlife and Fisheries Commission acknowledged two different awards to the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries at their November meeting.
LDWF received an award for their 20-year participation in the North American Waterfowl Management Plan from Environment Canada. A. Kell McInnis III, Louisiana Wildlife and Fisheries Foundation's executive director, was on hand to receive the award for the department at the 2006 Association of Fish and Wildlife Agencies Conference in September. He presented the award to LDWF's Acting Secretary Janice Lansing at the LWFC meeting.
LDWF Enforcement Division's Senior Agent Toby Miller, a Kentwood resident, received the "Litter Enforcement Officer of the Year" award from Keep Louisiana Beautiful Executive Director Leigh Harris. Keep Louisiana Beautiful, Inc., a not-for-profit organization formed to assist the state in litter reduction efforts, annually recognizes organizations that have developed outstanding litter prevention, beautification and community improvement, waste reduction and law enforcement programs in their communities.
