The Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries (LDWF) will be providing youth waterfowl lottery hunts on the Bayou Pierre Wildlife Management Area (WMA) on Nov. 3 and 4 this upcoming hunting season. Applications are due by Oct. 1.
Applicants for the youth lottery hunt must be between 10-15 years old. A $5 non-refundable check or money order made payable to LDWF is required with each application. Submitting more than one application will result in disqualification.
Applications can be mailed to Youth Lottery Waterfowl Hunt - Bayou Pierre WMA, Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries, P.O. Box 98000, Baton Rouge, LA 70898. Applications are available at LDWF region offices and on the Web site at http://www.wlf.louisiana.gov/hunting/regulations/wma/lotteryhunts.
Winners will be notified by mail with the lottery permit. Successful youth applicants must have an escort at least 18 years old. Only the youth will be allowed to shoot during these hunts.
Youth hunters must possess a hunter safety certification or proof of a successful completion of a hunter safety course.
