When an individual purchases a Wholesale/Retail Seafood License, Fresh Product License, or Crab Shedders License they are required by law to report sales to the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries Trip Ticket Program. These individuals will participate in a short training session which covers the reporting requirements and proper procedures for filling out trip tickets and monthly submission sheets.
The Department provides all the trip ticket forms and monthly submission sheets to dealers at no cost, but obtaining these forms is the responsibility of the dealer. The dealer must determine the type and number of forms they will need to last about 6 months. Trip tickets are assigned to a dealer and cannot be shared. Dealers must not wait until they run out of forms before requesting additional forms due to the legal responsibility to report all transactions. All trip tickets and monthly submission sheets must be turned in on an original form. The Department cannot accept copies.
