“Give a Whoop!” LAFAYETTE Workshop Registration is Open
The Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries is pleased to offer our “Give a Whoop!” educator workshop Saturday November 15, 2014 at the Lafayette Public Library, South Regional Branch, 6101 Johnson St. Learn about the whooping crane reintroduction program and the crane’s amazing journey back from the brink of extinction! Geared toward teachers of middle and high school students and informal educators, these workshops will explain the complexities and challenges of the reintroduction program, demonstrate the new classroom lesson activities , and discover the wonder of these magnificent creatures.
This workshop is open to formal and informal Louisiana educators. Attendees will receive breakfast and lunch, a binder with related GLE-aligned lessons, continuing education credits, a replica whooping crane egg and a life-size whooping crane poster.
