This format is a 10-hour classroom course that is usually held over 2-3 days. We cover firearm and hunting safety, wildlife management principles, ethics, game identification and outdoor survival. Students must successfully complete a live-fire exercise with both formats. Firearms and ammunition are provided for the live-fire exercise so students should not bring their own.

You MUST attend both days for Certification. There is no charge for this course. Children under 10 years of age will receive an Attendance Certificate only. We will cover firearm and hunting safety, wildlife management principles, ethics, game identification and outdoor survival. Students must successfully show safe gun handling. Firearms and ammunition are provided for the live-fire exercise. Students should not bring their own ammunition nor firearm. Upon successful completion, students will receive their permanent certification via email at the email address listed in your LDWF account . Attendees are responsible for snacks, drinks, and/or lunch. A mini ice chest is permissible. A microwave oven and refrigerator. are available. Please label any food items stored in the refrigerator .
