Courses are taught by LDWF Education Program staff and volunteer instructors. The majority of courses are taught by volunteers who donate their time to teach hunter education. Volunteers undergo background checks and receive training and oversight from LDWF staff. Requirements for Becoming a Hunter Education Instructor • Be of reputable character • Attend a 12 hour instructor training course • Complete livefire exercises • Pass a written exam • Undergo a criminal background check • Teach or assist in teaching one course every 24 months.

This is a course to train Hunter Education INSTRUCTORS and is not for people only looking for a basic hunter education certification. All volunteers must attend both days of the course and pass a background check to become certified. Food will be provided on both days.
