Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries enforcement agents cited four subjects for alleged littering violations on Oct. 17 in Orleans Parish.
Agents cited Thaddeus Brandt, 27, of New Orleans, Maurice Tero, 38, of Slidell, Margaret Thomas, 64, of New Orleans, and Richard Lavigne, 68, of New Orleans, for gross littering.
Agents were on a litter enforcement patrol in Orleans Parish on Oct. 17 when they found four separate large litter piles.
Agents found a large litter pile near Michoud Blvd. and found items that linked Brandt to the litter. Agents then found another large litter pile and found items that belonged to Tero off Michoud Blvd.
Agents were then notified about another large litter pile off Kent Dr. Agents investigated the location and found items belonging to Thomas.
Agents then conducted a follow up investigation on an anonymous complaint of litter in Algiers. Agents found the litter pile off Tullis Drive and found items linked to Lavigne.
Gross littering carries up to a $900 fine, up to 30 days in jail and 16 hours of community service in a litter abatement program.
Agents participating in these investigations are Agent Mason Castello and Senior Agent Salvador Mangano.
