Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries (LDWF) enforcement agents cited a New Orleans man for an alleged littering violation on Aug. 20 in Orleans Parish.

Agents cited Charles Wolfe, 39, for gross littering.

Agents received information about an abandoned vessel in Lake Pontchartrain near the Hwy. 11 and Interstate 10 bridges.  Agents arrived on the location and found an abandoned 30-foot vessel run aground in the rocks.  Agents documented that the vessel had barnacles on the vessel above the water line, which indicated the vessel was abandoned for an extended period.

Agents traced the vessel and found that it belonged to Wolfe.

Gross littering carries up to a $900 fine, up to 30 days in jail and 16 hours of community service in a litter abatement program.

Agents participating in the case are Senior Agent Salvador Mangano and Corporal Gary Pierce.
