The body of a swimmer was recovered from Lake Pontchartrain this morning, July 5, in St. Tammany Parish.
 
The body of Lacy Patrick, 20, from Mobile, Ala., was recovered around 6:50 a.m. from the North Shore Beach area of Lake Pontchartrain.
 
Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries (LDWF) enforcement agents, The St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office and the U.S. Coast Guard started searching for Patrick after she was hit by a vessel while swimming in Lake Pontchartrain around 5:15 p.m. on July 4.
 
LDWF will be the leading investigative agency for this fatal boating incident. Her body was turned over to the St. Tammany Parish Coroner’s Office to determine an official cause of death.
