Officials with the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries announced the 2015 commercial fishing season for greater amberjack in Louisiana state waters will close on Sunday, July 19 at 12:01 a.m.
 
Following a review of current landings, data indicates the 2015 Gulf of Mexico commercial quota of 409,000 pounds will be harvested by July 19. 
 
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration announced that federal waters will also remain closed to commercial amberjack fishing for the remainder of 2015.
