The Southwest Louisiana Convention and Visitors Bureau honored the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries (LDWF) Lake Charles Office with a Partner in Tourism award at its national tourism week luncheon last week.

The award recognized all staff and divisions at the Lake Charles office for their contributions to tourism in southwest Louisiana and assistance to the Convention and Visitors Bureau staff.

“The Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries always has our back,’’ Convention and Visitors Bureau noted in a statement during the awards ceremony. “Whether it’s keeping us in the know with what’s new in the realm of the outdoors or being a place of refuge for Convention and Visitors Bureau staff. One day a boat broke free and (LDWF) was quick to respond to our call to identify the boat and bring it to safety. We are grateful to have such helpful and knowledgeable neighbors.’’
