The Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries has scheduled a drawdown for Saline Lake in Natchitoches and Winn parishes on Thursday, November 19 for giant salvinia control.

The control structure will be closed once the water level reaches two feet below pool stage but will be reopened again on Monday, December 7 until the lake level reaches a total of 8 feet below pool stage.

The date of completion for the drawdown will be announced following an assessment of aquatic vegetation on the lake.

Although the lake will not be closed to fishing, caution is advised of boaters during the low water period, as boat lanes will not provide normal clearance for underwater obstructions.
