Today, the Louisiana Wildlife and Fisheries commission adopted a notice of intent to modify current crappie regulations on Eagle Lake in Madison Parish.
Passage of this NOI will change the daily take and size regulations to 30 fish per person with an 11-inch minimum length limit in order to establish consistency with Mississippi, who borders the lake on the east. Provided identical regulations are approved in Mississippi, the rule will become effective on October 1, 2015, and will remain in effect for a four-year period.
Future management will be determined after a population stock assessment and angler opinion survey are administered after the four-year period.
