Secretary Charlie Melancon announced today that Randy Pausina has tendered his resignation as an employee of the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries.  His resignation will become effective May 6, 2016. Melancon replaced Pausina as Assistant Secretary of Fisheries in February, and since that time he has continued to serve within the Department as Deputy Assistant Secretary for Fisheries.

“We are thankful for Randy’s many years of service with the Department, and his leadership as Assistant Secretary of Fisheries, said Secretary Melancon.  “We wish Randy the best in the next phase of his career.”

Secretary Melancon replaced Pausina as Assistant Secretary with Patrick Banks, a fifteen-year veteran of the Department who previously served as its Director of Marine Fisheries.  “I am looking forward to working with Patrick and others who I have recently appointed to my leadership team to make this Department the best in the country”, said Melancon.
