Recreational harvest of gag grouper closes January 1st | Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries

The Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries (LDWF) reminds anglers that there is a closed season for the recreational harvest of gag grouper from January 1^st through June 30^th of each year.

Additionally, the recreational harvest of black, red, yellowfin and yellowmouth groupers closes from February 1^st to March 31^st of each year seaward of the 20 fathom (120 foot) curve.
