Grand Bayou and Island Road boat launches at Pointe-aux-Chenes Wildlife Management Area (WMA) have been closed because of flooding from Tropical Storm Cindy, the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries (LDWF) announced.
The Grand Bayou launch is located on Louisiana Hwy. 665 south of the WMA headquarters. Both launches will remain closed until the water recedes and any necessary repairs are made.
Pointe-aux-Chenes WMA is located in Terrebonne and Lafourche parishes, approximately 15 miles southeast of Houma. The 35,000-acre WMA is owned by LDWF. For more information on Pointe-aux-Chenes WMA, go to http://www.wlf.louisiana.gov/wma/2790.
