Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries enforcement agents cited a Denham Springs man for an alleged fishing violation in Jefferson Parish on Sept 8.

Agents cited Carlos Chavezmembreno, 41, taking undersized Spotted Sea Trout.

Agents were on patrol at the Bridge Side Marina Fishing Pier when the observed Chavezmembreno fishing. Agents made contact with him and conducted a license and compliance inspection.

During the inspection, Chavezmembreno was found to be in possession of 13 Spotted Sea Trout all of which were undersized. Agents seized the fish and donated them to a local charity.

Taking undersized Spotted Sea Trout brings up to a $350 fine. Chavezmembreno may also face civil restitution totaling $376 for the replacement value of the illegally taken fish.
