Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries enforcement agents cited a subject for alleged charter guide violations on July 7 in Jefferson Parish.

Agents cited Hall Clark, 33, of Metairie, for failing to possess a charter boat captain license and a charter recreational offshore landing permit (ROLP).

Agents were on patrol on July 7 at approximately 9 p.m. when they encountered a vessel in Caminada Bay. Agents stopped the vessel for a license and creel check and they discovered that Clark was the captain and that the vessel was a charter vessel returning from the Gulf of Mexico with paid clients.

Agents also learned that Clark did not possess a charter boat captain license or a charter recreational offshore landing permit.

Failing to have a charter boat captain’s license carries a $400 to $950 fine and 120 days in jail for each trip conducted. In addition to any other penalty provided for any person convicted of a second offense of violating charter guide regulations the offender may only operate a vessel that employs a vessel monitoring system for the three years after the date of the conviction. Failing to obtain an ROLP carries up to a $50 fine.

Agents participating in the case are Lt. Gerald Sander, Agent Clinton Willis and Agent Ernest Reynolds.
