Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries enforcement agents cited a man for alleged turkey hunting violations on April 1 in Vernon Parish.
Agents cited Noah, K. Joffrion, 21, of Hessmer, for hunting turkeys over a baited area.
Agents found a baited area off Gill Hunt Road in Vernon Parish on March 14. Agents went back again on March 19 and documented whole corn on the ground.
On April 1 an agent surveilled the area and observed Joffrion in a ground blind actively hunting turkeys over the baited area. When Joffrion exited the blind, the agent made contact and he admitted to knowingly hunting turkeys over the baited area.
Hunting turkeys over a baited area brings a $250 to $500 fine and up to 90 days in jail.
Agents participating in the case are Lt. Andrew Mitchell, Sgt. Russel Brack, Corporal James Smith, and Agent Micheal Thacker.
