The Louisiana Wildlife and Fisheries Commission received three proposals at their June meeting from organizations seeking funding for Breeding Waterfowl Habitat Conservation dispersed through the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries (LDWF).
The funding would be utilized over the next three fiscal years beginning in 2016. The proposals will be reviewed by LDWF and recommendations made to the Commission at their July 2 meeting for final approval.
Proposals were submitted by: the United Prairie Foundation, requesting $35,000 annually for three years; Ducks Unlimited, requesting $325,000 annually for three years; and Delta Waterfowl, requesting $160,000 annually for three years.
