The drawdown on Henderson Lake has been rescheduled to begin on Monday, September, 25, 2023, and will end on November 1, 2023.
The drawdown had been delayed due to a request from the Coastal Protection and Restoration Authority (CPRA) to St. Martin Parish Government, based upon the implementation of the Henderson Lake Dixie Pipeline Spoil Bank Hydrologic Restoration Project.
CPRA said that if the drawdown were to begin on the originally planned start date, water elevation would have dropped to a level where the marsh buggy excavators could not cross the Enterprise Pipeline, and construction of the Henderson Lake Dixie Pipeline Spoil Bank Hydrologic Restoration Project would have to be suspended. Therefore, CPRA, St. Martin Parish officials, and LDWF biologists have agreed to postpone the drawdown.
The Dixie Pipeline work has now been completed.
