A Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries enforcement agent arrested a subject for alleged driving while impaired (DWI) in Grant Parish on Oct. 27.

Sgt. James Bruce arrested Leroy Crooks Jr., 51, of Pollock for his fifth offense DWI.

Sgt. Bruce was on patrol in the Kisatchie National Forest when he observed an All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV) on a public roadway. Sgt. Bruce stopped the ATV and made contact with Crooks Jr., who was the operator of the ATV.

Sgt. Bruce determined that Crooks Jr. was impaired, arrested him and booked him into the Grant Parish Detention Center.

Fifth offense DWI brings up to a $5,000 fine and 10 to 30 years in jail.
