Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries (LDWF) enforcement agents cited a Texas resident for an alleged littering violation on March 28 in Jefferson Parish.
Agents cited Andres Mendoza, 40, of Comal County, for gross littering.
LDWF agents received information on March 28 regarding an illegally discarded load of construction material and supplies beneath the Earhart Expressway at Heaslip Avenue in Metairie. After further investigation, agents determined the material originated from a home improvement project in Gretna.
Agents then identified Andres Mendoza as the contractor responsible for the removal and disposal of the project waste. Agents made contact with Mendoza and he admitted to dumping the roll-off bin of material from a disposal truck upon Heaslip Avenue.
Gross littering brings up to a $900 fine, 30 days in jail and 16 hours of community service in a litter abatement program.
Agents participating in this case are Sgt. Kyle Wagner and Corporal Gary Levron. The case will be forwarded to the Jefferson First Parish Courthouse in Metairie for prosecution.
