Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries (LDWF) is hosting an open house at Booker Fowler Fish Hatchery on Saturday, March 28. The public is invited to stop by any time between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. for a 30- 45 minute tour, which will explain the process of producing Florida largemouth bass. Visitors will learn about spawning and be able to view largemouth bass throughout various stages of development – including fry, fingerlings and adults. Native paddlefish fry may also be available for viewing.

Please join us for an informative visit at the state’s premier hatchery to get a glimpse of the work that LDWF does to provide high-quality fishing experiences for the public and ensure that Louisiana remains a Sportsman’s Paradise.  Hatchery operations are made possible with funding from the federal Sport Fish Restoration Program.

For questions about the open house, please call (318) 748-6914. The hatchery is located at 10 Joan Stokes Road, Forest Hill, LA 71430. For a map to the Booker Fowler Fish Hatchery, please click here.
