The Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries has closed several roads to vehicle traffic at the Richard K. Yancey Wildlife Management Area (WMA) due to flooding, including Dobbs Bay Road and all roads and trails located within the Mississippi River Batture area.
As a reminder, all trails are closed from March 1-Aug. 31.
While the WMA will remain open, users are asked to comply with road and trail closures to ensure safety and prevent road damage. Once the water recedes, LDWF will inspect, repair and reopen those thoroughfares when safe for travel.
Richard K. Yancey WMA is located approximately 35 miles south of Ferriday on Louisiana Highway 15 in lower Concordia Parish.
