The Louisiana Wildlife and Fisheries Commission recognized the Tchefuncte River Foundation at its monthly meeting for their efforts to clear underwater blight from the Tchefuncte River.
Over the last 10 years, crumbling camps, debris and half-sunken vessels have plagued the river as a result of hurricanes and storms. The Foundation provided leadership and organized efforts to remove the debris and get the local community back on the water.
