Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries enforcement agents cited two subjects for alleged migratory game bird violations in Allen Parish on Dec. 6.
Agents cited Devin Bazinet, 27, and Ethan Bazinet, 21, both of Basile, for taking over the limit of ducks and intentional concealment of wildlife.
Agents were on patrol when they made contact with the men while they were hunting on Bayhou Nezpique. Agents found the men in possession of two wood ducks and a green wing teal. Agents also found 16 additional wood ducks on the bank that the men intentionally concealed.
The daily bag limit on ducks is six of which no more than three can be wood ducks per licensed hunter. The men were three times over their legal daily bag limit of wood ducks.
Agents seized 18 wood ducks and one green wing teal.
The over limit of wood ducks citations have been filed with the U.S. Attorney’s Office for prosecution in Federal Court. Intentional concealment of wildlife brings a $900 to $950 fine and up to 120 days in jail.
Agents involved in the case are Corporal Michael Darbonne, Sgt. Zachary Meche and Sgt. Steven Vidrine.
