The Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries (LDWF) would like to remind oyster harvesters that the public oyster areas within Calcasieu Lake in Cameron Parish will close at one-half hour after sunset on Tuesday, April 30, 2024. This area initially opened on October 15, 2023.  With this closure, all public oyster areas in Louisiana will be closed, and the 2023-2024 oyster season will be concluded.
