Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries enforcement agents successfully rescued two stranded boaters on Feb. 3 in St. Bernard Parish.

Agents received a call around 6:30 p.m. about two elderly men that were out fishing when they became stranded in the Delacroix marsh. Agents were given an approximate area, but could not contact the men by phone because their cell phones were dead.

Agents searched the area for the men and located them around 11 p.m. Agents were able to get the men into their vessel and bring them and their vessel back to the dock safely. Neither man needed medical attention.

Agents involved in this successful search and rescue are Lt. Austin Landry and Sgt. Salvador Mangano.
