Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries (LDWF) Inland Fisheries biologists deployed 100 Christmas trees at two new locations within the Saline-Larto Complex to enhance fish habitat.

Anchored with cinder blocks, these artificial reefs provide vital protective cover for young fish while also attracting adult bass and crappie, creating prime fishing spots for anglers.

The Christmas trees used for this project were generously donated by Lowe’s Home Improvement stores in Pineville and Alexandria.

The reefs are not marked, but anglers can use the coordinates below to locate the new structures along with other reefs throughout the complex.
