The primitive firearm deer season scheduled for Saturday and Sunday (Oct. 10-11) at Alexander State Forest Wildlife Management Area (WMA) will be self-clearing only, the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries (LDWF) announced.
The mandatory deer check will not be required due to possible impacts from Hurricane Delta. Hunters will still be required to validate their harvest within 72 hours by calling 1-844-LACHECK or going to https://la-web.s3licensing.com/.
Alexander State Forest WMA is located in Rapides Parish in central Louisiana approximately 10 miles south of Alexandria.
