Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries (LDWF) enforcement agents cited a Slidell man for alleged littering violations on June 24 in Orleans Parish.

Agents cited Luis M. Delgado-Reyes, 38, of Slidell for Gross Littering.

Agents were on patrol when they observed a fresh litter pile near the Hwy. 90 (Chef Mentuer) and Hwy. 11 intersection.  This intersection is a long-standing location known for dumping in New Orleans east.

Agents were able to find identifying material within the multiple paint cans, boxes and construction material.  Agents traced the material to Delgado-Reyes in Slidell.

Agents went to Delgado-Reyes’ residence and found additional paint cans identical to those in the litter pile.  Agents made contact with the subject and after conducting an interview, they determined Delgado-Reyes placed the litter intentionally.

Gross littering carries up to a $900 fine, up to 30 days in jail and 16 hours of community service in a litter abatement program.

Agents participating in the case are Senior Agent Salvador Mangano and Agent Mason Castello.
