This free boating course usually lasts between 6 and 8 hours. Participants usually complete the course in one day. LDWF is offering a free, in-person boater education course that satisfies boater education requirements. The course lasts between 6 and 8 hours. A LDWF Law Enforcement Agent will instruct the course, which includes information on choosing a boat, classification, hulls, motors, legal and equipment requirements, navigation rules, navigation charts, trailering, sailboats, canoeing, personal watercraft, and more. To register, create an account and sign up for a course online. Once you complete the course, you will receive a temporary certificate. You will receive an official proof of completion email at a later date. ***A lunch break will be provided. Please make arrangements to bring your own lunch or make plans to eat somewhere local.***
