Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries enforcement agents arrested a Monterey man on Sept. 26 for alleged boating safety violations in Concordia Parish.

Agents arrested Bradley Edwards, 26, for his fourth offense of driving or operating a vessel or vehicle while intoxicated (DWI), first-degree vehicular negligent injury, careless operation of a watercraft, operating a watercraft during a license suspension and overpowering of a motorboat.

Agents were notified on the night of Aug. 30 about a single vessel boating incident in Horseshoe Lake. Edwards and the passenger were taken to the Trinity Medical Center where they were both treated for serious injuries.

During the investigation, agents discovered that Edwards was impaired at the time of the incident and had his driving license suspended. Agents booked Edwards into the Concordia Parish Jail.
