The Louisiana Wildlife and Fisheries Commission (LWFC) approved the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries (LDWF) Broodstock Collection Permit Application that will allow turtle farmers to take certain species from the wild. The action came during the commission’s March meeting Thursday (March 6) in Baton Rouge.
LDWF will assist turtle farmers in filling out the application should they need it.
The permit application is part of reptile and amphibian rule regulation changes adopted by the LWFC last year.
