The Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries (LDWF) has reopened Muddy Bayou Road at North Fork on Dewey W. Wills Wildlife Management Area (WMA). The road was closed due to damage.

Dewey W. Wills WMA is located in the southern portion of LaSalle and Catahoula parishes in central Louisiana approximately 20 miles northeast of Alexandria.

Available game species include deer, squirrel, rabbit, raccoon, waterfowl and woodcock. There is also a small game emphasis area. There is excellent recreational  fishing in this area. Common recreational species include largemouth bass, white bass, crappie, catfish, bluegill and other species of sunfish.

All visitors to Dewey W. Wills WMA and all LDWF WMAs must have either a WMA Access Permit, Senior Hunting/Fishing License, Louisiana Sportsman’s Paradise License, or Lifetime Hunting/Fishing License.
