The Wolf Bay Campground located off Louisiana Highway 112 in West Bay Wildlife Management Area (WMA) in Allen Parish is closed until further notice, the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries (LDWF) announced. The campground suffered serious tree damage during Hurricane Laura.
The campground will reopen once trees have been cleared and damage repaired.
Users of West Bay WMA are advised to use caution when in West Bay WMA due to damaged trees in and around the WMA roads and trails. Most of the main roads have been cleared of trees allowing the public access to the area.
LDWF estimates cleanup will take several weeks before other roads and trails are completely passable. All West Bay WMA hunting seasons will progress as scheduled.
