Agent Benefits
Cadets now enjoy an entrance rate of $53,865 annually and $57,636 upon obtaining the rank of
Wildlife Agent.
- 7% pay increase after 2 years of successful service and upon achieving the rank of
Senior Agent - Another 7% pay increase after 4 years of successful service and upon achieving the rank of
Corporal - Annual 3% performance evaluation raises

Retirement Benefits
The LDWF Enforcement Division offers an excellent retirement package for its agents based on maximum salary, age of employee and years of service. Each year of service earns Wildlife Agents 3.333% of their highest three year average salary.

Louisiana Public Employee Deferred Compensation Plan
Wildlife Agents have the option to join the Louisiana Public Employee Deferred Compensation Plan. This is a voluntary retirement savings plan that offers eligible employees the option to contribute pre-tax or post tax (Roth) contributions through payroll deductions.
